This is a film about the life of Banda Singh Bahadur (1670-1716), who led a successful struggle against Mughal tyranny in India. The movie is known for its valiant portrayal of the religious struggle undertaken by the Sikhs and promises to bring out an interesting story that is both important and commendable. It is, therefore, worth your time to watch this amazing video. The film is being produced by the hard-hitting Urvashi Sharma and Anil Kapoor. It has been directed by debutant director Vivek Agnihotri who is the son of R. D. Burman and a former associate of acclaimed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film shows how Banda Singh Bahadur led a revolt against power that was unjustly exploited by the powerful Mughals. In this movie, Banda Singh Bahadur becomes a symbol of resistance as he sets out on a journey to free himself from the clutches of the oppressive Mughal empire and help his fellow Sikhs in their fight. The shooting of the film began in Shimla in May 2010. The film opened to rave reviews in early January 2011 in Mumbai and Punjab in Punjab. It was produced by the same team that brought "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" starring Salman Khan and Ranveer Singh to the silver screen. The story of the film is set in 1670 when Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was ruling over Maharashtra, Delhi Sultanate, Kashmir and Sindh. Banda Singh Bahadur (Ranvir Sehgal) leads a revolt against Mughals who are desecrating Sikhism and loot Hindu temples. He is the only warrior in Punjab and kudos to him. The film will highlight the role of Banda Singh Bahadur and his bravery in fighting against the Kishan Chand that ruled over Punjab from 1689 to 1707. In 1997, Dr. Rajeev Ranjan directed a telefilm based on life of Banda Singh Bahadur titled 'Shaheed-e-Banda Singh'. In 2003, it was aired on Doordarshan along with other Bollywood films including 'Pokkiri Raja', 'Dil Chahta Hai', 'Lajja' and others. Ranjeet is playing the role of Guru Gobind Singh and Priyanshu Chatterjee will essay the role of Banda Singh Bahadur. The post-production work of the film was completed in late January 2011. The film was showcased at IIFA awards, IIFA Rocks and other prestigious award shows held in Berlin, London and Canada. All this hype around this movie has created a lot of curiosity amongst people to watch Banda Saahib's story being enacted on screen.
